I was inspired to run for public office from my mentors who had formerly served in City Council and have encouraged me that Union City needs their first Chinese councilmember. I also wanted to give back to the community that has helped me so much.
Crime incidents, use-of-force incidents, and vehicle thefts have decreased. Key public safety units, including traffic enforcement and community policing, have been reinstated to improve neighborhood safety and response.
For the first time in years, Union City's budget is no longer operating in a deficit. Jeff has supported balanced budgets that protect essential city services while maintaining responsible financial planning.
New restaurants and businesses continue to open across Union City. High-tech companies are exploring opportunities here, and efforts are ongoing to make vacant office space more attractive for future employers. Jeff supports policies that strengthen the local tax base and create jobs.
